Status Reports (10%) Deadline: 28.4 (23:59) & 5.5 (23:59) Two separate reports, handed in at the ends of week 1 and 2. Multiple Choice Exam (10%) Time: 8.5 (09:00-10:00) Students complete and hand in a multiple-choice exam, done in class. Elevator Pitches (15%) Time: 28.4 (09:00-10:30), 5.5 (09:00-10:30) & 12.5 (15:30-17:00) Students must perform three elevator pitches during the course. Marks are given for the structure and content of the pitch as well as dynamism and familiarity with the subject. Students are encouraged to show examples of their work if possible, e.g. prototypes. Peer Evaluation (15%) Deadline: 12.5 (23:59) Students are given a total of 100 points per group member to evaluate their partners. It is both possible to give a group member zero points (if their input to the group was abysmal or nonexistent) or more than 100 points. Students can receive a maximum of 15% of their total grade from their peer evaluation. If three or more group members give the same student 50 points or less, said student will be given a zero for this item. If a student receives a zero from each of his peers, that student will fail the course. The evaluation will be handed in digitally and more details will be given in class. Final Report (25%) Deadline: 12.5 (08:00) Marks are given for structure, presentation, content, and ambition on a scale from 1-10. Final Presentation (20%) Time: 12.5 (09:00-14:00) Marks are given for work completed, thoroughness of the business model (and reasoning), presentation and structure. A panel of judges will determine the grade of each presentation.   Group Information (handed in with each deliverable) Each deliverable is to be handed in with a front page marked with the name of the group, group members (along with identity numbers) and the date. A Template will be made available. Template: Project Outline (5%)         The goal of the project outline is to demonstrate the group work performed in the first days of the course as well as the goals and preliminary business idea the group has agreed upon. It is important that three things are mentioned in the project outline: what language the final presentation will be given in, which sector the group plans on working in and what their preliminary business idea is. It is not uncommon for business ideas to change when a group begins to work on them and it is in fact encouraged that entrepreneurs should make good use of customer and mentor feedback to improve their ideas. Each deliverable is to be handed in with a front page marked with the name of the group, group members (along with identity numbers) and the date.   Project outline   1.    What is the business idea? (Max 150 words)   2.    How did the group come up with this idea? (Max 150 words)   3.    Describe the group members and their relevant skills. (Max 150 words)   4.    How does the group plan to work together in the coming weeks? (Max 150 words) Template: Status reports (2*5%)         The goal of the status reports is to assess the group work performed thus far as well as the development of the business idea and performance of team meetings. A central part of these reports is to describe how work has progressed and the groups hypotheses have changed. Explain why they have changed. In each week, teams should have an I Like I Wish (http://ilikeiwish.org/) meeting and attach their worksheets from that meeting to the status report as well as a picture of the groups BMC as it stands. Each deliverable is to be handed in with a front page marked with the name of the group, group members (along with identity numbers) and the date.   Project outline   5.    What has the group accomplished in the last week? (Max 150 words)   6.    What are the groups next steps? (Max 150 words)   7.    How has the business idea changed or developed in the last week? (Max 150 words)   8.    Describe the groups last I Like I Wish meeting. (Max 150 words) Template: Final Report (25%)         Students have three options to choose from when it comes to the final report: ·      A) a business plan. A business plan is a formal statement of business goals, reasons they are attainable, and plans for reaching them. ·      B) a marketing plan. A marketing plan is a comprehensive document that outlines a company´s sales, advertising and marketing efforts for specific goals, within a set time frame. ·      C) a market assessment report. The goal of a market assessment report is to check the feasibility of introducing the product or service to a specific market and to map the challenges and possibilities specifically tied to that. In all three options the templates are similar but have different emphases to accommodate for the diversity of startup ideas.             It is important when choosing the format for the final report to strongly consider what will best suit the business idea. Is the business idea brand new and based on a hitherto unproven model? Then a more general business plan might be the best fit. Is the business model based on an existing model and will require more intensive marketing efforts to succeed? Then a marketing plan might be the way to go. What about if the logical next step for the product or service is to scale abroad? Then performing a market assessment report would be a logical choice.             Below is a supportive template for use when writing the final report. Front pages, introductions and references are not specifically mentioned in the template but should obviously be used when appropriate. If a maximum word count is not coloured it means that the word count applies to all three formats.     Business Idea ((A)Business Plan, (B)Marketing plan, (C)Market Assessment Report)   9.    What is the business idea? (Max 150 words)   10. Describe the problem or need the business idea is meant to solve or utilize. (Max 150 words)   11. How is the problem or need met today? Describe the solutions used presently. (Max 150 words)   12. Who is behind the business idea and what role do the play in the group? (Max 300 words)     Market ((A)Business Plan, (B)Marketing plan, (C)Market Assessment Report)   13. (Max 150 words)   27. How does the company make money? Has the group tested hypotheses about price points and income streams? Explain. (Max 300 words)   28. Attach a three-year financial plan.     Next Steps ((A)Business Plan, (B)Marketing plan, (C)Market Assessment Report)   29. What are the necessary next steps to execute the idea?
