SkipulagThe aim of the course is to introduce the new thinking surrounding sustainability, sustainable development, and sustainable finance, using the comprehensive impact framework ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance). Students will conduct their own ESG assessment of a real company as the main Project in the course. Key concepts and methodologies include sustainability, sustainable development, ESG, climate change, risk management, circular economy, life-cycle thinking, impact reporting, sustainable finance, green bonds, social bonds, blue bonds, and more. This course “Sustainability & ESG” takes students step-by-step through the process of developing a robust, holistic, and comprehensive sustainability strategy for the company they are issued. Packed with real-life examples, the most recent research, up-to-date cases and guest speakers from leading companies and institutions in the field of sustainability and ESG. Emphasis will be on student participation, analysis, presentations, and case studies.

Námsmat
Cases, projects and critical discussions will be the primary material for thiscourse together with a set of supplementary readings. Students areencouraged to gather speed rather quickly at the beginning of the course andto make the most out of the classroom hours. It can also be sensible to berather strategic in the course and try to use the readings and preparation forthe literature reviews also for the benefit of the group project.
