This course is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to identify the information needed to solve a specific business research problem and to develop and apply an actionable research proposal based on this knowledge. In a series of sessions, the course focuses on specific aspects of doing research. • Advance theoretical knowledge, practical skills and competences in business research methodology. • Encourage students to think critically and incorporate appropriate research techniques and skills in their research. • Provide students with an understanding of ensuring high quality and rigor in business research.

Knowledge The student should: 1. have developed a familiarity with a variety of research methods through which business and management problems may be examined. 2. have an advanced understanding of the research process and its components 3. appreciate the role of systematic literature reviews in research 4. understand and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of different research methods at an advanced level Skills The student should be able to: 5. identify a business or management problem 7. convert the identified problem into a concise research problem (or problems) and formulate it into a comprehensive research proposal to be investigated by a researcher. 8. apply ethical principles of research when shaping the research proposal 9. complete a research proposal Competences The student should be able to: 10. develop, present and defend a research proposal
