Content
This course builds participants’ knowledge about processes and practices to train and develop human capital within organizations. It focuses on the strategic development of human capital and talent development for employees and managerial staff. A combined approach will be used, focusing on theory, research, practices, and organizational strategy and its context to meet current and future job demands. Various fundamentals, frameworks, and essential terminology will be covered. These range from learning theories, needs analysis, planning, designing, and implementing effective learning in organizations to methods used to evaluate the impact of training and development. Recent and future trends and challenges in the field will also be covered, as well as various concepts relating to organizational and individual learning.  
Learning outcome - Objectives
Knowledge The student should be able to 1. Identify, define, and explain fundamental theories, methods, frameworks, and research findings relating to learning and strategic training and development. 2. Identify, define, and explain key terms for employee and managerial training, development, and talent management. 3. Identify, define, and explain key terms relating to evaluation and measurements of the impact of training and development procedures. Skills The student should be able to 4. Plan, design, and implement learning processes based on relevant theories and concepts suitable for different organizational contexts and employee groups. 5. Identify, explain, and apply learning models, concepts, and strategies to organizational contexts and employee groups. 6. Collect and analyze data and information from internal and external sources to analyze training needs and forecast organizational and employee requirements and needs. 7. Design and implement strategically relevant and effective on-the-job and off- the-job training and development programs for organizations. Competences The student should be able to 8. Evaluate, assess, and design talent management and training and development programs in alignment with HR and business strategies. 9. Critically assess and evaluate the suitability of different approaches and teaching methods used in training and development in various external and internal contexts. 10. Critically assess and evaluate the impact of training and development in organizational contexts. 11. Formulate and synthesize general principles for optimizing training and development in organizations.
