About majorMeistaranám í stjórnun nýsköpunar leggur áherslu á nýsköpun og frumkvöðlastarfssemi. Nemendur öðlast hæfni til að að stýra nýsköpunarstarfimismunandi skipulagsheilda við þróun á nýjum ferlum, vörum og þjónustu, ásamt því að nemendur geti leitt frumkvöðlastarf á breiðum grunni, þar á meðal til að stofna ný fyrirtæki. Námið eflir þekkingu og næmni nemenda fyrir nýjum tækifærum, þjálfar skapandi og lausnamiðaða nálgun og miðar að því að nemendur geti gert slíkar lausnir að veruleika.

Content
The aim of the course Cross-Cultural Communication is to develop knowledge and skills that will enable you to interact successfully with people from different cultures. The course is designed to increase your competencies in recognizing and articulating your own cultural background and to enable you to develop your abilities to identify and take advantage of cultural diversity, including different values, priorities, and insights held by members within multicultural and global work environments. This course assists you in implementing strategies for various intercultural and cross-cultural challenges, such as, culture shock, cross-cultural adaptation, reading non-verbal communications and cues and to provide knowledge that can prevent cross cultural misunderstandings. This course bridges the gaps between theorizing and the many complex practical issues faced by managers and workers in today´s organizations around the globe. Through use of lectures, cases, simulations, readings, films and in-depth discussion, this course equips you with abilities to solve problems and minimize unnecessary conflict.
Learning outcome - Objectives
The student should:
1. Understand the complex relationship between culture and communication, and the role of communication in culture
2. Understand theories of culture, communication and cross-cultural communication interactions
The student should be able to:
3. Examine verbal and nonverbal communication
4. Examine the impact of cultural differences on managerial communication and how to be an effective communicator in a cross-cultural setting.
5. Identify communication norms, rituals, taboos of other cultures and barriers to intercultural communication Competences
